Back from Ireland

I didn't make any podcasts from Dublin. I had my iPod with me but when I was there I didn't feel like letting my travel companions in on how geeky I really am :)

However, I enjoyed my first visit to Ireland. We were very well taken care of, our hosts picked us up at the airport, took us to the hotel and then made sure we were alright throughout the whole 4 days stay. At St Patrick's Day we went to see the parade and the atmosphere in the city were great. I also tasted my first Guinness with black currant, which was a pleasant suprise, and saw my first hurling and Gaelich football game. In the evening we had dinner together and afterwards we ended up in the pub at the hotel where we stayed.

I like Ireland and the Irish. I can't explain why but I felt so welcome all the time and I already know I want to go back to see rest of the country. Perhaps this summer already. I've heard about the Castlebar 4 Day Walk - that might be a fun experience :-)

Glad you enjoyed your stay in Ireland. Saw your name on 'Skype' and checked out your site. Personally, I think St Patrick's day is one of the worst times to see Ireland because everyone is so pissed.
By the way, if you're coming again there's much, much nicer places than Catlebar to visit.

So when I come back - what places except Castlebar do you think I should visit? :-)

Welcome back, Steffanie O'Müller...

Hit out to the 'Wild West'.

All along the West coast is gorgeous. Connemara, Clare, Kerry, West Cork. All good stuff.
Galway is a great city as well. It's a small enough city but with a big arts culture thing going on. You can use it as a gateway to 'The West'.
